Update on the Eden production
Here’s a quick summary of the Eden and where we are with it now.
All #cad has been buttoned up for sizes medium-xl and sent off for quotes by three companies. One being our US machine shop we will retain for all our prototypes and any semi-custom bikes anyone wants ordered.
Our other factories are based in China and they have been vetted fully to meet our standards for environmental and social standards as well as precision. They don’t do any military products but rather other bicycle, automotive, snow sports, medical and rock climbing gear.
These plants will allow us to create bikes at a reasonable price to all of you. As our US made Eden LE retails for $10,900 for the frame kit (gearbox/belt/cogs/axle/rear shock choice/cranks). We are looking into having all CNC parts made in China then brought here for frame assembly as well as full frame production overseas. Once we see final costs we will evaluate, but it’s looking like all foreign made frames (parts or completes) will cost about 1/4 to 1/2 less than the US made models.
We have an expensive bike. Lots of engineering and time and heroic amounts of CNC hours into each frame so we know it won’t be low cost, but we are working hard to create a masterpiece that is affordable and within reach for any who want one. And trust us, once you ride one, you’ll want it!
