I've built around 600 motorcycle wheels and there's no gauge that I know of for the tension. I'd just give them a tap with the spoke wrench and listen to the tone to get them even and tight enough. I've done at least a hundred MTB wheels and never used a gauge either. I just give them a pluck like a harp string and listen to the tone.

Ah. But you have to bring it up to the right pitch. I'm no musician, but higher means tighter. And there is too tight. And even is even. And no bent rim makes even tone if it's true.
