Overall Review:

As my friends and I have gotten older and have gained moreresponsibilityin life, we have moved our wild and reckless activities from the daytime to the night. Yes, we are spending as much time and money as cocaine addicts do.The only difference is ours recklessnessis targeted solely on mountain biking. Key to this is our discovery of night lights. After doing a ton of research on what are the best brands and models of lights, I found myself sticking a Niterider Pro 1500 on my bars. Here's why:

Running time:
The NiteRider Pro 1500 has a running time of 1.5 hours on the brightest (1500 lumen) setting. Weighing in at 435 grams, that was one of the best brightness/running time/weight ratios I found. Lowering it down to 450 lumens and I'm able to ride for 6 hours.

The clamp is completely adjustable to fit and move around any cables or barconfiguration. When I say "any" I don't really mean it. They currently don't make a 35mm bar clamp which is a huge bummer for them oversized riders trying to compensate for something in their life. Anyways, I was very impressed with how easy andsturdy the clamp was, even on the most extreme trails.

My riding set-up consists of two lights, a 800 lumen on my helmet anda flood light on my bars. The most important light is the one on my bars because I wanted a light that wouldeliminate everything in front of me. That's why I went with the 1500 lumen. When riding my favorite downhill trails, I feel completely confident in being able to see everything when having the NiteRider Pro 1500 on high.

Charge time:

My only complaint that I have with the NiteRider Pro 1500 is that it takes asignificant amount of time to fully charge (5 hours!) I know that's not a huge amount of time, but when your have spontaneous friend who give you an hour's notice about going on a ride, that just not enough time to get it fully charged. Hopefully the next models will have a shorter charging period.

NiteRider as a company:

I have been very impressed with how NiteRider handles their customer service. If something breaks or is defective, they do a great job at making sure everything is taken care of (within reason.) They do a much better job at making sure their customers are happy than others (better than the makers of my helmet light whom I won't throw under the bus in this review). The biggest issue people have withelectronics is getting the help they need if something isn't working right and Niterider does an exceptional job at that.

Bottom line:

I have been very happy with my Niterider and would very much purchase another one. I would strongly recommend this light and this brand to anybody looking at getting more riding time in when they just don't have enough time to during the day. They are an exceptional brand and lead the industry inaffordability, performance, and customer care.
