Removable battery

We’ve made removing Kado’s internal slide-in internal battery a cinch for storage, battery swaps, or off-the-bike charging: just open the battery cover, unclip the battery connector, undo the captive bolt, and slide the battery out. Simple. By not cutting a compromising hole in the downtube, we’ve also maximised the frame’s strength and minimised its weight.

We’ve designed, tested, and proven every Kado in our native UK, riding all year round through the best and the worst of conditions. Riding through the foulest winters means we’ve added a whole host of weather-proofing touches that may not grab headlines but will keep you riding sweeter and for longer.

All-new chassis

Kado’s chassis is ground-up, brand-new and available in three choices of materials to suit different tastes and budgets: full carbon (Kado RSX), carbon front triangle/alloy rear triangle (Kado RS), and full aluminium (Kado S).

In every Kado frame, we’ve carefully packaged Bosch’s latest, fifth generation Performance Line CX motor and removeable internal batteries as low in the frames as possible to optimises the distribution of battery and motor mass so you can experience exceptional cornering agility and confident handling on any terrain.

All with our latest industrial design so they look as good as they ride.

Lifetime frame and pivot bearing warranties
Whichever you choose, we back every Kado with an extended lifetime frame warranty, and a lifetime warranty on all suspension pivot bearings for the original owner*.

*For the original owner. Riders simply need to register their bike with us for free within 28 days of purchase to activate.

Removeable internal battery
Easy to remove internal batteries make life a simple for charging or storing the batteries off the bike, as well as for car park or mid-ride battery swaps.

Low centre of gravity
A lower centre of gravity delivers a better handling and more confidence-inspiring ride in all situations.

Custom-tuned suspension
Whyte custom-tuned rear suspension delivers perfect performance, wherever the trail takes you.

29er wheels
29er carbon wheels front and rear that are light, tough and compliant to give you every advantage across any trail.

Geometry adjustment
Switch from ‘High’ to ‘Low’ – to slacken geo by 0.6º and lower the bottom bracket by 8mm – for more gravity-friendly handling.

Takes a waterbottle
Take water with you on any Kado with space for a water bottle on every frame size.

Tube-in-tube internal cable routing
Carbon Kado’s have fully lined internal hose and cable runs through both the frame’s front and rear triangles to make cable and hose changes as easy as A-B-C.

Switchable rear wheel
You can swap the rear wheelsize by changing the ‘Shape.It’ link to go from full 29er front and rear to MX (aka ‘mixed wheels – 29in front, 27.5in rear).

All Kado bikes are ready to convert to a MX (aka mullet) wheel set-up (29in front, 27.5in rear wheel) so you can tailor their ride to exactly how you want – and all without affecting the geometry or the suspension kinematics. Just replace the bike’s stock Shape.It Link with our Shape.It Link L (62-66mm), together with a suitable ASTM/EN17406 rated rear wheel (category 4, enduro) laced with an eBike rated rear hub.

Bosch’s all-new Performance Line SCX full-torque (85Nm), full-power (600W) motor is quieter, lighter, and even more refined.

Up to 800Wh internal battery
Bosch’s latest, most efficient batteries give you more range for less weight than Bosch’s previous batteries. Choose from 600Wh or 800Wh batteries, depending on model and your country.

Minimal controls
Bosch’s Mini Remote and System Controller deliver a clean cockpit with everything you need for the ride but nothing you don’t.

Ready for a range extender
Kado* is compatible with Bosch’s aftermarket ‘PowerMore’ 250Wh range extender – to give you up to 1050Wh of battery capacity!

Mix and match
Every Kado can take both 600Wh and 800Wh batteries so if you decide to buy a larger (or smaller) battery so you can change the stock battery out for longer (or shorter) rides – or for racing – you can.

‘Wired-in’ gearing
RSX models have their SRAM AXS wireless electronic transmissions powered directly from the bike’s main battery – so you’ll never forget to charge the mech’s battery.

But that’s not all: the mech is powered by the battery’s lighting reserve cells so even if you ran out of juice for pedalling, you’ll still be able to shift your gears and ride home.

Personalise and manage your bike how you want, and get the most from your riding, using the rich features of Bosch’s eBike Flow companion app.

Optimised centre of gravity
We were the first in the world to pioneer a low centre of gravity approach using our rotated motor, dropped in-tube battery configuration seen on our first-ever eMTB, the E-150, that launched in 2019. Delivering a radically low centre of gravity by packaging the additional masses of the motor and battery as low as they could go was the solution to unlocking the best handling. Now we’ve pushed things further for our latest mid-travel eMTB, reducing its centre of gravity by 12.54mm (Kado RSX, with 800Wh battery) compared to our previous mid-travel eMTB (E-160 RSX, with 750Wh battery) to improve the handling even more.

Whyte’s Head of Mountain Bike Design, the 2024 British E-Enduro Series Champion and National Champion, Sam Shucksmith – who won both titles aboard Kado during its development – has channelled his 17 years of racing experience to tune Kado for maximum performance so you can enjoy the highest level of support, grip, confidence, and control possible right from your first ride.

Short 155mm cranks deliver maximum ground clearance on RS and RSX models, with 160mm lengths on S models.

Fox and RockShox suspension
High-quality, high-performance suspension units – with meticulously custom-tuned rear shocks to smooth out the rough. Kado is also compatible with coil shocks.

Four-piston brakes
Powerful and controlled four-piston hydraulic disc brakes with oversized rotors for richly useable power.

Full-drop dropper posts
Size specific, full-drop dropper posts give you room to manoeuvre on even the steepest terrain.

Wide bars
Full 800mm wide bars give you the leverage to wrestle even the roughest lines into shape, and let you cut them down to your preferred width, too.

MaxxGrip tyres
Kado RSX and RS bikes benefit from Maxxis’ most grippiest compounds, partnered with puncture-resistant EXO+ and Double Down (DD) sidewall protection for durability.

Take on any climb with wide-range 10-52T 1x transmissions on Kado RSX and RS bikes.
