Erik Fedko Signs With YT

YT goes back to its roots with the signing of the stylish German trick machine.

January 19, 2022 – Keen eyes in Mexico will have realized that Erik Fedko is sending it on a new rig at Freeride Fiesta this week. YT Industries and Erik Fedko announced they will be teaming up in pursuit of Good Times.

YT Industries kicks off the new year with some big news hot off the press in Mexico. The gravity mountain bike brand welcomes Erik Fedko to the team. The best German slopestyle mountain biker and one of the best tricksters in the world will be riding Dirt Love, TUES, and Co for the years to come. Freeride Fiesta is the perfect kick-off for the partnership where it is all about having fun and riding bikes. Fedko will also be getting to see known faces from the YT Family like Bienvenido Aguado Alba and get to know new teammates such as Dylan Stark, Ethan Nell, and Anthony Napolitan.

Fiesta-ready TUES

“I still remember that the YT dirt jumper was the first dirt jump bike that I really wanted as a kid. Everyone talked about the bike back then. I think we have a couple of ideas for the Dirt Love moving forward. For now, I'm really excited about the different bikes like the CAPRA and we’re kicking things off with a road trip from Mexico to California for a shoot. I'm looking forward to working with YT and have a lot of freedom to realize my creative ideas, but of course I will be going all-in at slopestyle contests too.” – Erik Fedko, YT Family member

From Motocross to Crankworx Success

Erik Fedko started riding bikes in 2006 and was brought to the sport by his dad who got him into motocross. “I was given my first motorbike when I was eight and from then on, I only wanted to go higher, faster, gnarlier on a local moto track. When I wasn’t riding my motorbike, I was on a BMX trying to jump with it in the woods,” Fedko remembers. After breaking his femur in a moto accident, he focused fully on non-motorized bikes from the age of 14, and after years of dedication and hard work he had his breakout year in 2017 where he won a Wildcard to the major slopestyle event Red Bull District Ride and came 5th. What followed were multiple podiums at Crankworx Slopestyle events around the globe. The 23-year-old finished last year’s Crankworx FMBA Slopestyle World Championship in third place and underlined that he has what it takes and belongs to the upper echelon of the slopestyle sport.

“The first YT was a dirt jump bike! So of course, I'm thrilled with the signing of Erik Fedko, to be back in Slopestyle and back to the roots!” – Markus Flossmann, Founder & CVO YT Industries

YT DNA: Dirt Jump, Freeride & Young Talent

The story of YT Industries began with a steel dirt jump frame in 2008. This initial bike instantaneously won an award in the German ‘Freeride Magazine’ and put founder Markus Flossmann and his new company on the right path to success. Since then, the German mountain bike manufacturer dedicated itself to gravity mountain biking and developed game-changing, award- and title-winning bikes such as the downhill bike TUES and the enduro mountain bike CAPRA. In the meantime, YT has introduced the E-MTB DECOY, all-mountain JEFFSY, and trail bike IZZO, which all carry an interpretation of the fun-loving gravity DNA for their respective category within them. YT has worked with numerous gravity athletes from day one and returns to its roots of dirt jump and slopestyle with the signing of Erik Fedko.

“I'm stoked to bring some fresh new Young Talent to the YT-Family! Erik is such a humble guy despite his style and success, it is great to have him riding our bikes from now on. He is 100% the definition of Young Talent and already proved this at multiple major slopestyle events. I couldn’t ask for a better start into the new year. 2022 will be wild!” – Jan-Philipp Becker, Head of Sports Marketing & Partnerships
