Commencal Enduro Team Adds Three New Riders

Younger, faster! Three new riders join the the COMMENCAL Enduro Team!

Over the last few years, Cécile and Cédric Ravanel have always tried to help new talent. Teaching them everything they know and offering them the best possible conditions to work under, have always been part of their DNA. It’s clearly the way they see the evolution of MTB and it’s what they want to show through their COMMENCAL Enduro Team.

The success of Antoine Vidal is the perfect example of this: For his first year on the program, Antoine took his first overall EWS victory in the U21 category and finished second in the Downhill World Championships. This year he steps up and is going to be racing with the Elites and after grabbing a few top 20 results in this category too this year, everyone is looking forward to see what he’s capable of!

For 2020, the team has naturally decided to continue along the same path, but with the addition of three new riders! Their names are Laura Charles, Alex Rudeau and Alexis Icardo. And guess what? They’re all talented, young and fast!

In a few words:

Alex Rudeau (23 years old) has a trial background and already showed his potential in Enduro by finishing 14th at the EWS in Canazei last year and by winning the overall of the Enduro French Cup. 2020 will be his first full race season!

Laura Charles (24 years old) has been racing Enduro for the last three years, she won the overall of the Enduro French Cup last year and she was the French Enduro Champion in 2018.

The youngest is Alexis Icardo (16 years old), he won the overall in the 2019 French Cup and the French Championships in U17. He’ll compete with the U21 this year and his goal will be to finish in the top 5!

What kind of news for Cécile Ravanel?

Ten months ago, she had the biggest crash of her career and she still doesn’t have the green light from her surgeon to go back racing yet. But, Cécile still loves riding and being part of the team, being involved and available for the riders is a big opportunity and motivation for everyone.

Cédric Ravanel will continue to manage the team and after winning the EWS Championship in the Masters category, his main goal is obviously to repeat this!

The team is proud to say we’re continuing with all the components and partners we were riding with in 2019. The team only says goodbye and a special thank you to Vallnord for his support over the last three years.

Antoine, Alex, Laura, Alexis, Cécile and Cédric are now the six riders of the COMMENCAL Enduro team. We wish you a wonderful new year and see you soon on track!
