Driving by Silverton Mountain, CO yesterday and it got me thinking about it. Brought the memory up of some old bike clips from the races in the early 2000s. Terrain there is absolutely proper!! Need to get that place going for bikes!!

Nice, I was hoping there would be some Bender footage! I have heard some crazy stories from that era, Bender telling the FLC kids to "just sack up and hit it". 🤘
It would be awesome to have both Purgatory and Silverton running in the summer.
Man, I sure would love to hear more from those times/races!
hahah FLC kids riding with Bender on that. wild!
Sure would be incredible for our little area around here. Purg has freaking great terrain but management and vision are piss poor so its a challenge there. Maybe someday it will get what it deserves(that said, I still love riding there!). Silverton is private around the lift line area and the grade is steeeeeep! Sure would be insane how gnarly of a proper DH place could be built around up there.
Debbie Downer take: It's 2025, and with how steep that grade is, think of how many miles of grade-traversing IMBA blue flow trail you could fit into one descent! And how many 180 degree switchbacks!
(But for real, that mountain looks awesome for building. Had to look up "Silverton Mountain, CO" on the map, because I was confusing it with Silverthorne in Summit County)
