Anyone with practical, firsthand experience with them? Contemplating having 2 builds from em, a gravel/allroad/f-aroundfindout rig and a full sus. Other sites have a few interesting + and - takes, but I tend to trust folx' thoughts, experiences, n opinions here more than others.
A Youtube channel called Spindatt used to be way more active but has tapered off a bit with injuries. He has a Marino bike that has seen a few different iterations. I think currently he has it set up as a singlespeed park/trick bike but he's had a pretty good opinion of it for a while now.
He worked with Poseidon to design their Norton Hardtail to be a budget bike that was actually good, worked in shops for years prior to that, and has been a lover of bike stuff in all forms for a long time. I really like his channel and a person going a few years back and watching in succession will see a bike nerd go from commuting to fixed to road to mtb to dirt jumping to xc to mtb all the while riding bmx and having spurts of motorcycle and car obsessions.
Go check his channel out even if it's just to see what he has to say about his red Marino.

I’ve got a hardtail that I bought second hand that I will never sell. I got lucky and it fit me perfect after the guy who ordered it didn’t quite fit right.
All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a new one. The only complaint I’ve seen is that sometimes the geometry is off, so pay close attention in the design process. Also, sometimes the lead times are longer than stated. I don’t think I have heard anybody claim he is not a really nice guy though, and I’ve always thought what he does is cool.
I will say the way he does the full suspension is not the best. All of the ones I have seen look like they would have a falling spring rate. People seem to still like them though.
I just got a hardtail frame, ordered just after Christmas and got it a week ago. Haven’t finished building it yet. Should be finished later this week.

Shit, Im in the process of having one being built. Have not finalized the order but I thought I was maybe going to get my dream geometry bike. But damn, regressive spring rates drive me crazy…
Met a guy here in PNW two years ago riding Marino bike. He said that quality and especially price was good, the execution what was requested was not the best - he had some idea about the geo and kinematics but that not come to fruition in the final frame design (sounded like a maker error).
Interesting, right behind the gusset. Gotta check into that. Wonder if it's a result of welding outside the butt profile.
