Best goggles for proheminent noses ?

Hi all,

I'm looking for other tall nose people's experiences with goggles. Searching online hasn't gotten me much. I have 100% Accuri (v1) that I can tolerate, but I'm looking to see if better options exist. I have also tried Oakley's Front Line MX, but it's not better than the 100%, and the Leatt Velocity 4.0 was pressing too much on my nose.

I know 100% have supposedly upped the nose comfort on the new v2 models and I'd be curious to try them. Does anyone else have an issue with this, and what are your findings? Money is no object, I just want to breathe well. Thanks!

Edit : The helmet that those are going in is a Leatt Gravity 1.0.

I have a huge honker... I mean seriously, it's massive.  (photo below for reference of huge honker expertise) The bridge of my nose is very straight without a bump/bulge from breaks or anything like that (my father's has a hump from a broken nose)

At any rate, I've had good luck with the smith squad and the smith squad XL goggles.  Neither apply any pressure to my nose/bridge and they fit is balanced between my cheek bones, eye location and massive honker.  Below photo shows the squad XL with ixs trigger.

Thanks @ebruner ! I don't want to start any contests, but my honker is even taller than yours. I must have broken that sucker when I was young and I don't remember because I have a bump at the worst place for goggles. Anyway, I have never tried the Smith goggles so I'll try to find some locally to see if they fit.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm ordering one of each model of 100%'s lineup and will update this page with my findings for posterity.

Ok so I got the 100% goggles order and here are my findings!

Strata 2 Junior ($): yes I ordered the junior version, thinking that they would be less "tall" and I was right. They are actually like 1/8" less tall overall than the regular/adult size Accuri 2. The width/span of the face foam/frame is pretty much exactly the same, but the strap is 1/8" narrower. I have a large Leatt Gravity 1.0 helmet and there is ample strap length to make it fit (I had read that junior goggles' straps would be too short for an adult helmet but I'd guess they'd fit pretty much anything except adult XXL). Oh and they fit perfectly on my tall nose! Great field of vision and more space around the nose/mouth/cheeks means that the ventilation is great. No outriggers but they fitted great, actually the curvature/foam fit slightly better than the Accuri 2.

Accuri 2 ($$): This is the one I thought would be the best suited for my budget/needs/size, and it pretty much is. They are a little taller than the Strata 2 junior, but I didn't feel any difference when wearing both in the helmet. Basically, just pick the one that is the cheaper or has the colors you like the most, as it has the same "lens tech" as the Strata 2 and the more expensive Racecraft 2. I prefer the colorways of the Accuri 2, and they have way more models than for the junior version of the Strata. The Strata 2 adult has less colorways choice too. The tall nose fit was great too, nothing to note here except that I could breathe naturally and I didnt have any pressure on my nose bone/airways.

Racecraft 2 ($$$) : I did not open the box since it had a sticker that I had to cut to open it and I knew I'd return them. Judging by my findings, they would be bigger overall (with the outriggers and the nose piece) than the lower priced models, and I would have removed the nose protector anyway. The lens is the same quality and size, and the construction quality seems pretty much the same as the other models too. For people who want the added roost protection for the nose, or have pressure points because of the way the strap exits the helmet's face cutout, the Racecraft 2 with its outriggers could help solve that. They were sellling for 30$cdn more than the Accuri 2.

Armega ($$$$) : 100%'s flagship goggle. I won't make any fans from them with that, but they were the ones that I liked the less. They are bigger and thicker than the other ones, making a "tunnel vision" feel even if the field of view isn't that much restricted. With the thickness of the foam, the lens is farther from the eyes, and the frame needs to be wider and taller to compensate. This makes for a big goggle that fills the entire helmet cutout, which doesn't let much air come in and makes for added heat. I'd guess it's not a problem on an MX bike, but for enduro/dh, it could be too warm on longer rides. To be honest, I felt more "caged" in those than in any other 100% model. Breathing through my big nose was still great, like all the other 100% goggles though. I'd say it's a great goggle for MX with the added lens strength and resistance, the nose protector, but for MTB I'd go with any other. They seem to be worn by every 100% athlete on the DH circuit though, so they must be good!

Cheers!
