hello vitlmtb friends, I bought a fox dhx2 shock , used, without spring, for my norco sight vlt, in trunnion size 185x55 and I have doubts about the right length of the fox sls spring to use, I would be oriented for the 2.25 ", but I saw on some bikes, with the same shock absorber size, 2.4 "springs ... the fox site doesn't help much and suggests a maximum spring length limit of 127 mm ...
these fox springs cost very expensive and before buying one, I would like to be sure, can you help me? thanks and good ride!

Maximum spring length is whatever will physically fit - measure your shock, then give yourself 5-10mm of wiggle room just in case.

Minimum is a number higher than the shock stroke - if it's a 2.25" stroke, you need a 2.3" + written on the coil. Going long will weigh more, but gives you more tuning room to add preload.

Try to find some used steel coils to test the spring rate before buying a SLS / Ti /etc.
