What are the Best Brand of Cycling Shorts?

I'm talking about padding and comfort for XC riding. There seems to be very little discussion in this area and I never gave it much thought myself until I started spending a little more to "Get the good stuff." That's when people gave me conflicting advice. One bike shop introduced me a the top of the line name brand for $80. and another store said that name brands aren't necessarily better, they just use pretty logos and jack up their prices.

So, six months later I bought a lesser name brand known as SPEG for only $35. (Read that story here) and they were way better! The best I have ever tried!

That experience made me curious. What are other people wearing and what has been your experience with brand quality versus price? What brand are you riding?

Fox fox fox!!! I think they are in the middle as far as the price category goes but are among the best when it comes quality.

I wasn't sure if you meant XC spandex stuff or baggy stuff but I am talking about the baggy side of things. Also most of the Fox stuff comes with an inner camouix that you can use on its own in a pinch for road biking lol
