ive been reading a lot of forums about freeriding being dead or at least dying and after looking at a lot of bike lineups for 2015 im starting to believe them Sad im looking to purchase a freeride bike newer than 2010 (6-7 inches under 38lbs) and cant find any. if anyone could leave the names of a few it would be appreciated

Newer than 2010?

Norco Truax
Banshee Darkside
Transition TR250
Santa Cruz Driver 8 (on the heavy side)

Or a lot of new(ish) ENDURO bikes can be built up as freeride bikes depending on your weight.
For example, you take a Yeti SB66 and put a 36 up front, coil in the back, and dual ply tires on and you have something that can tackle most terrain. Of course ":Freeride" is open to interpretation so ENDURO bikes may not fit what you are looking for.
