Need Advice on Some New Bars

I'm looking to get some new handlebars and stem. I ride a 2010 Specialized Hardrock. I've been told that a 28" width would be good for me but other than that I have no what to look for. Any advice you can give me on some handlebars and a new stem would be awesome. Thanks!!!

You can always buy wider than 28 and cut em down later. Bend and sweep is definitely a personal preference thing. I am presently running the Vanderham PRO bars at 27.5 inches wide and love them. Easton and Deity also make some high quality bars and stems
