Hey guys,
I bought a 2017 Trek Fuel ex 8 with a 2x11 drivetrain. I want to convert to a single chain ring. I live in North Alabama so any suggestions on the gearing i should get? My last fuel ex 9 i went to a 28T chainring with a 10-42 cassette.
Current set up:
Shimano Deore XT, 36/26 tooth
Shimano Deore XT, 11-42 tooth, 11-speed

Thanks!

you can play along with different setups side by side.
My suggestion would be going 1x12 SLX or XT. I was in that 11-42 situation and it was horrible, I'm fit but dragging my 42 while my friends were spining easy those 50 eagles and 12 speed shimanos. I had enough.
If you don't want to spend that kind of money, you can always go Garbaruk way 10-50 cassete 11 speed with a special cage for your derailleur, then you can put any chainring you want in the front.
