Hey, I'm moving up to Montana and will be looking for some good riding spots. Are there any parks or downhill trails near the Bitterroot valley that anyone would recommend?
You should check out the Bitterroot National Forest, as it offers great riding spots, location and downhill trails in the area.
Get up to Blue Mountain at the top of the 'root for some good trail riding, higher up that zone you go the gnarlier it gets (shared with moto). Gonna have to go further north or east out of the 'root if you're looking for bike parks though. All sorts of backcountry-style rides up and down the main Bitterroot corridor though
Or just come to Missoula and hit up Marshall Mountain for some proper mtb-specific flow and dh trails, then you'll be able to find steeps or typical trail riding from any trailhead out of Missoula. Head further up north to the Flathead valley for some gnarlier stuff, Legacy Bike Park, Crane Mountain, Whitefish bike park, Spencer Mountain, and tons of other super techy riding to be found up there
....then there's the mythical deep creek, but you either gotta get creative with google maps to find or know somebody
