Hey guys, I can't decide between these two chest/shoulder armor pieces; The Alpinestars A-8 protection vest or the Troy Lee Designs BP7850 HW Jacket. I am looking for good shoulder protection since I have had a couple shoulder injuries and surgeries in the past and possibly something I could wear under my jersey. I have tried the long sleeve Troy lee jacket on this past summer and it was really light but the sizing was weird and there was no kidney support that I felt, but the Alpinestars might not fit under the jersey. I think they both work with my Bionic Neck brace but which would you guys rock and why? Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't have any experience with either, but in my opinion, I'd go with the Alpine Stars. If your shoulders were healthy, the TLD would be nice and light and slimmer. But with your history of shoulder injury, I'd feel more confident having the hard protection that the A Stars offers. And with my history of spleen injury, the kidney belt on it looks nice and burly too.

Idk, I have been reading lots a great things about that new TLD Armor too. I'm not sure what the shock doctor stuff is all about or how it would compare to a hardshell roost guard like the Astars but it couldn't be THAT much different could it?? I guess in the end if you have a big crash and go over the bars straight onto your shoulder the only thing that will stop an injury is a football shoulder pad system lol
