RESULTS: Loudenvielle Downhill World Cup Junior Qualifying

The fastest kids on the planet take on the dusty steeps of Loudenvielle.

It all got a bit messy in qualifying today in Loudenvielle, as a number of junior women needed reruns, which took place after the junior men's session. Additionally, a number of elite men had reruns slotted in between the junior women and the junior men, so it was hard to make any sense of the results for a hot minute. All is well that ends well though, everybody got to take their shot at one of the qualifying spots (20 for the junior men and 10 for the junior women).

Time to place your Vital Downhill Fantasy bets!

In the junior women's category, Aletha Ostgaard made the most of her rerun, setting the fastest time of the category after matching the splits from her previous, interrupted run. Rosa Zierl and Rosa Marei Jensen completed the top-three, but the two Rosas have their work cut out for them tomorrow if they want to match Aletha. Shoutout to Tilly Boadle who was on pace to beat everybody but ran into trouble in the very last section of the course.

In the junior men's category, Jonty Williamson took the qualifying win with a 3:37, 1.8 seconds ahead of first-year juniors Raoul Schneeberger and Sacha Brizin. Jonty's time was 9 seconds off the elite pace, which underlines just how abnormally fast the Alran brothers and Asa Vermette were going during their time as juniors last year (all three are already competitive in their first year as elites now, with Asa having taken the win in South Korea a month ago and the Alrans qualifying quite comfortably).
