Wedged in between elite Q1 and Q2 sessions, the juniors also took to the track today to battle it out for their spots in tomorrow's finals - the young guns still get one single qualifying session, just like last year. There were 16 women and 74 men on the start lists, and as always, we were keen to see how the junior newcomers would slot in with last year's "veterans".

The answers to the rookie question came quickly in the women's category as the top three qualifying spots were occupied by first year juniors. One of last year's dominant forces, Eliana Hulsebosch, has her work cut out for her tomorrow as she sits some 12 seconds back of Canyon's new signing, #USDH pinner Aletha Ostgaard. The top 10 junior women go through to tomorrow's finals, and as a reminder, there are no WC points on offer in junior qualifying.
In the junior men's category, the "old guard" proved a much harder nut to crack, with the Alran brothers and Asa Vermette locking down the top three spots of the rankings much as they did at many of last year's races. Max and Asa were in a class of their own as they sit some 5 seconds ahead of their nearest rivals. The top 20 junior men go through to tomorrow's finals, and as already stated above, there are no WC points on offer in junior qualifying.
