I guess I should have said "modern" and not "today's" standards. Commencal Meta TR: STA 78.6 Privateer 141 TA 78.8 Those are two off the top of my head that I refer to as more modern geo. A 500ish reach and 76ish degree STA is going to put a tall rider to far back for a trail bike when climbing IMO.

Longish reach and slackish seat tube angle (by today's standards) is gonna suck for tall riders.

Ya, they are really comfortable to ride and walk in. But here in Texas, where most of my terrain is dust with small shale/gravel, I spend a lot of time dumping my shoe out. If they had a thicker cuff like the free riders, they would be perfect. I'd imagine the XT's or HT's are better with the ankle neoprene, but I will not be buying this pair again after they wear out.

Holy crap, I thought I was going nuts. This was on a 2 month old XT M8100 RD. When up shifting, it would seem to get stuck every now and then. It just wouldn't drop into gear unless I shifted again. Thought maybe I had bent my housing, crud got in the housing, indexing was off or whatever. I checked everything. I finally just said %#* it, I'll just live with it. I took it apart the clutch this morning after reading this, and it was completely dry inside. Set the clutch to off, loosened it, and crammed some slick honey...

Great looking Bike! What are those brake & shift cable clips you are using? Looks like they will stay in place better than the s-hooks do....
