How does this shoe stack up to the new XVi Impacts? Its heavier, so for general purpose use, what benefits would there be in riding this over the new XVi impacts? Better pedal feel, more breathable? On long rides, with lots of pedaling which would be the better choice do you think?

I wish the 3 pairs I had didn't have bearing issues. On one the bearings just fell out, and on the other two were super rough and had a clicking sound. Great pedals otherwise, wish they would have gotten the quality control sorted.

I waited for these pedals for soooo long. I feel Specialized really dropped the ball in the quality control department. The first pair I got didn't even make it onto the bike. I was looking at them in the car ride home and the axle popped out of the pedal. The second pair made it on the bike, and while they felt great, nothing mindblowing, but great, the right pedal developed a clicking sound from a super rough bearing. I went through I think five pairs of pedals in the shop but all had some form of bearing inconsistencies, either...
