I will keep an eye out for the long spindle version - that would do it for me to switch (back) to CB. Offering my opinion on your default qf: "better clearance in tight trail" makes exactly zero sense to me as a higher design priority than being able to clip out your rear foot with level pedals.

Any comments on durability from someone who's run them for a season? On the old mallets I remember the q-factor causing me to fall over a few times because my toe hits the crank arm as my foot tries to pivot out. Only when pedals are level is it a problem (the stance we all use 90% of the time)

I have 2 sets. No problems with either. In contrast, my buddy has gone through 3 of their rims so far. We both agree the performance is awesome. As for square tires, we both think the width takes a Hans Dampf to the next level.
