I know you don't have this bike anymore, but I can't help but ask: When you replaced the stock shock with this larger one, did you encounter any sand getting trapped between the shock and the frame due to the minimal space inside? I deal with weird squeaking noises every now and then when riding, and I noticed that I had chunks of mud and sand stuck between the shock and the frame. There's really little free space, so I'm wondering if that's the cause, I won't get on the bike until tomorrow.
