Continuing to be the best podcast in mountain biking. One thing I wish racers would do, and Dak by no means is expected to lead the charge here, but if y’all want those salaries to grow, y’all need to nut up and tell the people what you earn. Half of these brands are now owned by some mega publicly traded corporation so it’s not even like there’s an obligation to keep the numbers under a veil of secrecy. You don’t get more when nobody knows what you get.

Favourite parts of the pods are when one of you tells a story from when you were racing. B-Practice funniest memories episode has the potential to be some very good content!

The intentions were probably more along your lines of thinking, but these guys are the top end of the sport and their sponsors should have the budget for athlete content. I admittedly can get a little sour on this subject. Had a brief foray into photographing freestyle skiing and snowboarding 10-12 years ago. Magazines were still relevant and almost every company would try to lowball me for a photo they wanted for ad usage. Thankfully, early on a well established photographer who was local to the area pulled me aside for a chat and told me essentially what I expressed...

I have all the respect and appreciation for Dak giving the people a peek behind the curtains and speaking his honest opinion, but I gotta say something about that take on filmers at the races. My guy, you just spent 5 minutes talking about the riders not getting paid their worth, and then you follow that up with saying the filmers should just do what they do for free? Or they should bend on their rates? If you provide a quality service that people want and start giving it up for cheap, then you will always be expected to give...
