I'm curious if you tried the XL and what your thoughts are if so. i tried the large and while initially it fit like you had said, during riding i started to get a headache and the cheek pads were so uncomfortable that i had to take a break from riding and remove the helmet for a bit. that said, the XL feels slightly too big for me.
