I was on a couple cold and wet Bellingham, WA group rides this weekend and there were two people running later-generation Hotbar prototypes and standard lock-on grips. 4/20/2026 6:06pm Can confirm they were on low. I had them on and off throughout the 4.5-hour ride and got home with more than 75% battery life remaining.

4/20/2026 6:05pm Howdy! Clayton here, the owner of HotBars. It seems two folks have already provided a response to your comment, but I figured I would provide a bit more info as well. First, I'd like to state that they are 100% able to efficiently provide the amount of heat needed to provide comfort for a bare minimum of 2 hours continuous runtime in very cold (~10° F) conditions with HotBars on the High setting. In the PNW, where we're often riding in ~40° F weather throughout winter, we confidently depend on them delivering 3 hours of continuous runtime. When I say...

In looking back at the press release, I'm realizing that the phrasing of the "early-adopters" discount may have been triggering for some folks. I assure you that we are a completely different company, have never met anybody from the company you're referring to, and have a completely different (and far superior, in our opinion) product. We are way beyond the Kickstarter phase, which we're thankful to have avoided, and will be shipping products in the fall. Tooling is fully open and now...
