Apologies responsiblepirate, if it works for you go for it. Yes you may see results but there may be a more efficient way to use your time though in order to maximise your performance on the bike, that's all. What if the time you spent training 'muscular endurance' in the gym was spent working on specific V02 intervals, threshold power...

Trailhead - that list of exercises you are currently doing is pretty spot on. I'd only add hip thrusters as they build glute strength more effectively than a deadlift or squat. Responsiblepirate and Fredleth, not on the right track as much. Your time in the gym isn't best spent training muscular endurance or stability by trying to replicate bike specific...

Seemed to be a couple of typo's in SRAM's statement. Edited for them: "Our goal is to sell the complete drivetrain with the performance and reliability is optimized by using all SRAM components story." You're welcome Mr Marketing. Smile That statement of SRAM's has butt hurt all over it.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the World Cup circuit isn't the only races these guys ever do (eg. Brosnan's 4 month season for 2016 just took a little hit with a dislocated shoulder at an Australian nationals race. These guys aren't just sitting at home playing xbox)! That much downtime could be as hard to manage as too little downtime. Both...

Aaron Gwin impresses me more and more with these in depth interviews. With his mental and physical approach to riding and racing, it's not surprising that the guy is on top so often. So balanced and measured but focused and determined at the same time. It's going to be interesting to watch his results unfold this year. I hope the...
The criminal charges is no surprise at all. The mindset of stealing is not that far off from cheating. This brother & sister had no chance when they were brought up with a father like that. I would bet every cent I own that she is guilty and will continue to cheat with that family around her. Don't want to...
Armstrong was the most talented tour rider alive at one point also blast_off.... just saying. Not saying Gwin is cheating, I don't get that 'win at all cost' attitude from him but just because someone is winning and we want them or their talent to be legit, doesn't guarantee it is.
The brother is on a ban for EPO and the sister is found with a motor in 'her friends' bike.... I'm going to take a wild guess and say Dad is a 'you better win child or you're a failure' type of person! The mindset to cheat like these 2 have doesn't just happen overnight.
DhDork and Iceman, I agree with Biker Bob, cadence is king. The old pushing a harder gear and grinding it out comes from the 'Strength Endurance' style workouts. Effectively, the aim is improve your legs ability to push out higher watts through progressive overload. This isn't through your legs becoming 'Stronger', it's by them becoming more efficient at processing and...
