Last fall we flogged Kona’s updated Process G2 and had a blast doing it. The update improved every single trait of the bike, but many folks were left wondering, “Where’s the wagon wheeler?” Kona hinted at the fact that a 29-inch Process 153 was in the works. Shortly after the release of the Process G2, aluminum versions of the Process 153 29 started to surface. I got a firmer tune on the main compression stack too, aiming to be less digressive towards the end of the stroke. Did you try a heavier spring? We are pretty much the same weight I found 500 too soft, 550 was the go - although overall the Sentinel leverage ration is lower than the Process http://linkagedesign.blogspot.com/2018/02/kona-process-153-2018.html

Thanks for the feedback, really interesting to hear your comments about bottom out support and ultimately going back to air. I was asking since I just put a DHX2 on my Kona Process 29. The Process and the Sentinel have a very similar leverage curve so I was interested in how you found it. I had been considering a bigger bottom bumper hence my question. So far so good for me - after trying a few rates a 550 spring is working well (I'm 88kgs) - general compliance and mid stroke is way better now, with only the occasional bottom...

A little off tangent, but in the first photo, whats the bottom out bumper on the DPX2 coil shock? It's much larger than the stock Fox bumper - looks similar to the 11/6 one? How does the Sentinel ride with the coil? Is the frame progressive enough or were you compromising with a higher spring rate?
