I love this Idea, If the big name guys like Semenuk, Aggy, Zink and so forth refused to compete without some sort of contract for financial gain then either the show wouldn't go on or it would set a precedent that all riders can do the same.

Awesome train of thought right here! I just disagree on one thing and thats that the sport need corporate backing to progress, i think with today's advancements in technology and social media its not as hard to capture an audience and with that in mind i feel it gives us as riders leverage as to which corporate backing we allow to be involved. The riders will always progress the sport single handedly because there will always be a hunger to push the boundaries of what one can achieve so with that in mind i think its time that the companies adhere to alot more of what the riders needs are and stand up and be accountable for ensuring there needs are met to some degree in the wake of serious injury and also with prize purses. For so long now we as riders have had to grind it out for minimal monetary gains and it is all smoke and mirrors! The youth see guys travelling the world thinking they are making mega bucks when in fact there monthly payments from there sponsor's is bugger all considering what these elite athletes put them selves through to push the boundaries of what is truly possible!!
