that dude was pinned. Was that Nathan Rankin? The weight penalty ain't such a bad thing when you consider it's not sprung or rotating weight positioned low in the middle of the bike, the reliability factor of no r/d and chain swapping around on a cassette is pretty awesome too, i think people would be surprised if they rode a bike like this how well it would work.
