How does the helmet fit, though? Does it lean more towards an oval head shape, or the rounder fit of Asian heads? I wonder why almost all helmet reviews fail to mention, or take that into account...

Because the bike industry has run out of ideas and they need something to push to the consumers. Case in point, Giant and their 27.5 bikes at the Interbike Outdoor Demo. When all you have are 27.5" wheels for potential customers to try, of course websites, mostly run by the stooges of the bike industry, can caption their photos with things like, "Current feedback suggests that the Trance X 27.5 is going to be a hit." Anything can be a hit, when there are no other options available to try.
