The Box Two-E 9S will work on a non-e-bike but the existing one was single click while the Prime 9 offers both options.

Our Prime 9 started with the Box Two 9s-E and we've expanded since. The Box Two Prime 9 is the same except for the shifter depending on if you wish to use single or multi-shift. This means offering high-end lightweight Box One cassette as well as affordable Box Three and Four options. No, all Prime 9 Drivetrains use traditional 9-speed spacing. We recommend using all Box Prime 9 components for the best performance that is compatible with most wheels.

Prime 9 cassettes utilize an 11 tooth high gear for two main reasons: 1. Having more teeth allows for a more evenly distributed load from pedaling torque, increasing both cassette and chain life. 2. Choosing an 11 tooth design allows Prime 9 Cassettes to be compatible with the most popular freehub body in the industry. While this does not provide the same high gear ratio's as a 10/9t it does provide a durable system that has consistent smooth shifting performance.
