Having ridden the bike I think he is referring to the bike feeling like a longer travel bike due to the low compression ratio but awesome to jump because of "I think" a shorter chainstay. Poorly worded but he's got the feel downpat. The bike really wants to flick upwards when pushed but has the sometimes boring Giant suspension that really sinks into its travel.

4.5k (AUD) for the top model. It's definitely slower than my old carbon trance x 29 but heaps of fun to ride and the wheels are noticeably stiffer being smaller

Late I know but I have recently bought this bike and yes pedal strikes can happen on tarmac whilst leaning and pedaling but not noticeably while on the dirt. The bike rails corners!!
