BasqueMTB Added a new video The Winter Leaves

6/27/2014 8:59am
Playing about on my local trails in the fallen leaves. The trees are still bare but soon winter will leave and spring will arrive. Filmed with my new GF1 and the 20mm lens. More info on my 'site, http://www.basqueMTB.com

BasqueMTB Added a new video The Crosses - Part 1

6/27/2014 7:20am
A local mountain with an 1100m summit offering a 10km descent. This is from the top section which is very rocky and technical, "part 2" will be from the lower section which is flowy through the woods. As always more information over on my website: http://www.basqueMTB.com.
Today my good friend Carlos and I took our Cove G-Spots up, and down, a local mountain. The descent is only around 1000m, however it is unrelentingly rocky and technical. Both climb and descent are a big physical challenge. Contrary t the soundtrack there are no "big jumps", only normal mountain biking! The G-Spot is perfect for this, I've got mine kitted out with Marzocchi 55's on the front and it really carries great speed over this technical terrain. You can read more about this route over on the BasqueMTB website: http://www.basquemtb.com]BasqueMTB Mountain Bike Holidays Songs are: "Big Jumps" by...

BasqueMTB Added a new video Mellow Days on the Basque Coast

6/26/2014 5:56pm
A video of me riding my Cove G-Spot into San Sebastian, in the Basque Country (Spain). The route follows the coast and uses a small ferry to link the trails. The final descent into San Sebastian drops right onto the beach, a perfect place to watch the beautiful people sunning themselves, secure in the knowledge that our day mountain biking was far superior in every way! I've been riding my Cove G-Spot for a full season now and love the bike. This video is part of a review of the bike which you can read on http://www.basquemtb.com/cove-g-spot-review, or you can...

BasqueMTB Added a new video Epic Days

6/26/2014 5:23pm
This is a video from an epic ride. We start with a tough climb up to 1000m and follow a series of mountain ridges between 950m and 1150m. The final descent is 10km of singletrack all the way back to a bar. We always get a warm welcome in the bar as the locals can never believe we are stupid enough to take our bikes over the mountains which tower over the village. There are more (summer) photos and a description over on: http://basquemtb.com/mountain-bike-holidays-back-country-epic/ This is the route that we will use for Ed Oxley's skills weeks, which we are...

BasqueMTB Added a new video BasqueMTB Visits Zona Zero in the Pyrenees

6/26/2014 7:51am
Zona Zero is an enduro rider's paradise and a regular stop on our Backcountry Pyrenees mountain bike holidays. BasqueMTB have good friends who are responsible for creating and managing the trails and so we often get a call to tell us that there are new trails ready to ride and so it was for the trail in this video. You can read the full story here: basquemtb.com/pyrenees-mountain-bike-holiday-new-trail/

BasqueMTB Added a new video Backcountry Pyrenees Mountain Bike Trip

6/26/2014 7:18am
This trail is one of the days on our Backcountry Pyrenees tour, which takes in some of the remote pre-Pyrenees trails using plenty of van uplift. This day uses several van uplifts as we traverse through a really remote area of Guara. After each uplift we descend on pristine, rocky singletrack alternating between flat out and trialsy and at the bottom of the valley we meet the van again to take us up to our next peak. Our final descent drops us at a remote hostal where we spend that night. The trails in this part of Guara are all...

BasqueMTB Added a new video BasqueMTB: Biking in the Pre Pyrenees

6/26/2014 6:57am
Riding pre Pyrenees, on the Spanish side of the Pyrenees is spectacular. The Pyrenees stand majestically as a backdrop to the twisty, flowy trails. On this day of our "Backcountry Pyrenees" holiday we shuttle here, dropping 500-700m to the villages below where we have a coffee and load the vans for another descent. The next day we will take a 4x4 uplift way up into the mountains you see in the background, which aren't covered with snow when we run our holidays, and spend the rest of the day riding back down. That is just two of the days on...

BasqueMTB Added a new video Technotricity: Basque Mountain Biking

6/26/2014 1:43am
Sometimes you need to take your free days when they come, ditch the office and just get out and ride. So it was that, with a short break in running our mountain bike holidays, we headed to the hills to grab a ride on a favorite trail. www.basquemtb.com
