Go ahead - give me crap - but it's sad to see XC racers with little to no MTB skills. What exactly is mountain biking if all you do is easy featureless non technical trails? What then separates a road biker from a mountain biker? The technical skills. Otherwise it's just dirt road biking.

It's sad for MTB to see guys at national level with so poor technical skills. I mean, being at ntional level racing means for me you have enough physical and technical skills to be on the starting line. The bike used and the position these guys have on can be an explanation. But honestly, I don't know why they put rock gardens and drops for xc races... There is enough natural obstacles to make challenging part on a track without using man built stuff.
