As a lifelong rider and avid mountain biker suffering with rheumatoid arthritis, I welcome this new technology. As my disease slowly takes away the one thing in this world that brings me the greatest pleasure, tech like this will keep me in the saddle and riding with my friends for many more years.

Don't be an elitist dude! If everyone can't be out doing what you love to do, then you probably shouldn't be out doing it. Remember you weren't always a 'pro' level biker and there will always be more and more rookies flooding the trail system on many different style bikes because riding bikes is a damn fun time!

Haters gotta get there hate on, but this technology has the ability to bring the joys of cycling to more members of society. Don't worry purists, eventually time will catch up with your mortal body, despite the fact we feel immortal when we are in peak physical shape... go back to riding rigid frame steel bikes if you can't stand technological changes.

I think these are great - I'm older, moving to elevation, and haven't ridden in a few years - a bike like this could make it possible for me to actually go out and enjoy the ride vs feel like I am torturing myself. This is an assisted bike and I don't get the hate honestly, I would agree the throttle bikes should probably stick to MX trails and the like due to impact, etc. but an assisted bike just make the pedaling easier...
