This weekend is the Claymore challenge. Gail and I flew out from Boulder for the event on the RedEye. The trip out was pretty rough. Once we arrived to the course, we knew it would be a sweet weekend. The Highands bike park has something special. From DH trails to the slopestyle to the dirt jumps, there is something for everyone.

I came out for the last chance qualifiers. The format has some invited riders, a prequalifier a few weeks ago, and then the last chance qualifier today. From the last chance qualifier they were taking 3 riders to the super finals which are tomorrow. After both runs, I ended up being the top qualifier from the qualifier. I am extremely excited to have made the finals. My runs went down pretty much as I wanted them.

“The final three riders have been inducted into the finals for tomorrow’s Claymore Challenge. Nick Simcik flew in all the way from Boulder, Colorado to capture the first open spot into the Claymore. Followed by Highland local favorites Dane Berke and Andrew Davies rounding out the top field of pro riders into Saturday’s big show.

Saturday is gearing up to be a record setting day at Highland with sunny skies predicted after 10am. The Sam Adams Beer Garden will be serving your favorite ales all day so stop by have a burger, a beer and watch some sick riding. For a full schedule visit www.claymorechallenge.com.”

I have some thoughts about tomorrow and how I want my runs to go and what I want to throw. I will update my site again after the finals as soon as possible.
