After a full summer of racing across the Northwest, the 2026 NW Cup Downhill Series came to a close at Stevens Pass, Washington — and it would have been hard to ask for a better setting for the final race of the year.
Stevens welcomed racers with beautiful sunny skies, cool mountain air, fall colors starting to show, and some of the best dirt we’ve seen all season. After a year that gave us just about every possible weather condition, Mother Nature decided to cooperate for the finale. The trails were running fast, the dirt was nearly perfect, and the changing leaves made it very clear that another summer of racing was coming to an end.
With season championships on the line, there was plenty to race for — and this year there was something extra waiting at the finish.
Thanks to Icicle Brewing, the Pro fields were racing for a massive $6,000 payout for the Pro Women AND another $6,000 for the Pro Men. It was an incredible show of support for downhill racing and gave the Pros one more reason to leave everything they had on the mountain for the final runs of 2026.
In Pro Women, Taylor Ostgaard finished her season exactly where she wanted to be: on the top step. Taylor took the win at Stevens Pass and, with it, secured the 2026 Pro Women’s Overall Championship, putting the finishing touch on an outstanding season of racing.
On the Pro Men’s side, Alden Pate put together the fastest run of the day to take the finals victory. But after a season’s worth of racing, it was Brandon Fisher whose consistency and results added up to the big prize, taking home the 2026 Pro Men’s Overall Championship.
And with that, another NW Cup season is officially in the books.
From the opening rounds at Dry Hill to new venues, road trips, changing weather, blown-up wheels, first-time Pro victories, family podiums, junior racers putting down some of the fastest times of the day, and finally an incredible weekend at Stevens Pass — 2026 gave us plenty to remember.
But next year is going to be a special one.
In 2027, we head back to where it all starts: Port Angeles, Washington, to begin another season at Dry Hill and celebrate an incredible milestone — 20 YEARS OF THE NW CUP!
Twenty years of racing, friendships, families, road trips, muddy shoes, dusty bikes, close finishes, and a community that continues to make the NW Cup what it is.
Thank you to every racer, family, volunteer, sponsor, venue, photographer, course worker, and person behind the scenes who made another season possible.
Enjoy the offseason. We’ll see everyone back in Port Angeles next year for 20 years of NW Cup!
Remembering Declan Ervin
One of the most meaningful traditions of the NW Cup Finals each year has very little to do with times, results, or who stood on the top step of the podium.
Each year we take a moment to remember and celebrate the life of Declan Ervin.
Declan was an incredibly talented young rider, but what made him special went far beyond his speed on a bike. He was humble, respectful, kind, and quietly determined. He let his actions speak for him, and the way he approached riding, racing, progression, and the people around him left an impression that continues to be felt throughout the NW Cup family.
The Declan Ervin Memorial Award gives us an opportunity each year to keep that spirit alive by recognizing young riders who demonstrate those same qualities. It isn't simply about being the fastest. It's about progression, character, sportsmanship, respect for others, and being the kind of person who makes the community around them better.
This year, we are incredibly proud to recognize Allie Ward and Elliott Dishman as the recipients of the 2026 Declan Ervin Memorial Award.
Allie and Elliott now join a very special group of past recipients who have been recognized not just for what they accomplish on the bike, but for who they are away from the clock as well.
Declan's time with us was far too short, but the impact he made continues. Every year that we gather together, share his story, and recognize another pair of young riders who carry those qualities forward, we make sure that his legacy remains an important part of the NW Cup.
Congratulations, Allie and Elliott — and, as always, we ride in memory of Declan.
Can't wait to see you all next year!
