“Call to the Cascades” - Trail Building Beyond Competition

A new episode in Orbea’s project focuses on Trans Cascadia, where passion for riding meets a deep commitment to preservation.

Deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, where fog winds between ancient trees and nature sets its own rules, lies a story that goes far beyond mountain biking. In its latest episode, Trail Tales travels to Oregon to discover Trans Cascadia: a unique adventure where racing is only part of the journey. What truly matters is what happens before, after, and in between each pedal stroke.

Founded by Nick Gibson and a small group of riders, Trans Cascadia began as an epic adventure on Oregon’s wild trails. Today, it’s much more: a movement rebuilding forgotten paths, fostering collaboration, and promoting a sustainable model for mountain biking.

Because here, caring and riding go hand in hand. “The real story isn’t in the race, it’s in the digging, the meetings, and the sweat,” says Gibson. And that’s exactly what this new episode captures, featuring Orbea ambassador Geoff Gulevich. Following Gibson and the team of volunteers, Gulevich explores a small portion of the restored trails, witnessing firsthand the dedication of a community that gives back to the land far more than it takes.

Rise LT: The perfect ally for the untamed In terrain as demanding as it is inspiring, Gulevich rides these routes aboard Rise LT, built for the most technical adventures. Powerful, agile, and designed to reach the unexplored, it’s the perfect partner for shaping new trails in remote landscapes like those of Trans Cascadia.

Trans Cascadia’s values align with Orbea’s mission to protect the places that make every ride possible. Trail Tales not only tells stories like that of Trans Cascadia, the project also supports conservation efforts, providing resources and backing to local trail builders worldwide while collaborating with trail associations to ensure the sustainability of their initiatives.
