The wbd broadcast/race format/bloopers discussion

I’m as frustrated as anybody.  But let’s try to keep it out of all the race threads.

I liked John halls idea of replacing q1 and q2 with a qualifying session.  use timed training and  current season standings to reduce field for qualifying session to keep it doable.

Also like the idea of replacing juniors with u23 for dh.

There should be more racers qualified for finals.

Look to redbull’s old broadcasts for pacing.  And rob’s commentary for storytelling.  Current format is a snooze fest in comparison.

Also get rid of the remote commentary BS, there's real value in having the commentators on-site, walking around the pits and talking to people. They lose credibility when it's abundantly clear they're in a studio thousands of kms away from the racing...

One quali session, 60 ish riders through to finals. Broadcast the top 20-30. Don't exclude as many good/favorite riders that have traveled across the globe from the finals at sponsors cost. Let them compete for the broadcast spotlight in quali, not for a ticket to even post a result. Even more relevant now that the times are getting so tight.

They need to do more to get the teams and sponsors exposure to justify the crazy costs of fielding a team in this horrendous industry climate.
