I thought you guys might like to see some pictures from my recent Utah trip with my best friend. We start with the Thunder Mountain trail near Panguitch:
We continued on to Moab that afternoon and got ready for the main event: The Whole Enchilada!
Friday morning we rose early and hi-tailed it over to the 7:30 shuttle. On the mountain by about 8:15, and at the top of Burro Pass by shortly after 9:00. (I am not a speedy climber!)
Down Burro Pass and into the aspen groves. We saw a small clutch of deer making their way across the path, but I didn't get any shots. One of them was hiding just off the trail and got startled when I came upon her. She bounded off the trail and into the underbrush before I even saw her.
The next section is Hazzard County. Scrubbier brush and fewer trees. You end at Kokopelli, which is a fast Jeep road down to the next section of trail.
Porcupine is next: Upper Porcupine Singletrack, Lower Porcupine, and Porcupine Rim. Upper is where the infamous Notch/Snotch obstacles are. I'm proud to report I rode the Snotch, albeit a little clunky. I'll have to upload some GoPro videos for that one.
That night we had some of the best Mexican food I've ever had! (Or maybe I was just really, really hungry...) Either way, I wholeheartedly recommend El Tapatio, on the east side of the main drag at about 100 South.
The next day was a ride/travel day. We were just worked from two days of intense riding, but managed to bust out about half of Pipe Dream before loading up and getting out of town. So long, Moab! I shall return.
