So im on the market for a new bike frame and im looking at the Status. only problem is i only have 27.5 wheels. Now i plan on getting a 180mm travel fork which would make the bike work, but until then would i be able to ride the Status with 27.5 up front? or would i have major problems. i really dont want t buy a new wheelset and fork.

I wouldn't say it's stupid at all. I just finished my 27.5" build using a ZEB 180mm front fork. Tomorrow will be its first ride on a trail, but riding around the neighborhood, flicking off a couple jumps here and there, manualing, and bunny hopping all feel pretty amazing. A quick entry of the numbers into the above calculator show this:

Granted it might not be 100% accurate, it gets the point across for me to feel comfortable moving forward.

There is a pretty active Specialized Status group on Facebook where people have modded their's out in all sorts of ways (including full 27.5).
