rear spring

I'm a pretty small guy @ 130lbs. Right now my bike has fox vanilla R coil with a 400lb spring in the rear. I was thinking of dropping it down for a softer one. I've tried looking around on the net for one but have come up with nothing. I ride mostly XC but love the rocky rooted and rutted stuff. Any idea's??

Have you checked the sag on your rearshock? It can be a idea to change the spring too a softer one if the sag is to little (aim for around 25-30%)

First thing to check for your rearshock is your shockstroke and freelength.

So take out your measuringtape.

You can find springcalcs on mojo or tftuneds website, just google it.

Srpingrate varies greatly depending upon the bike itself, how much travel, the shock size, rider size, personal preference, leverage ratio, suspension design, and many others. Try a spring calculator
