Hello,

I recently bought a 2015 cube stereo 160 with some great components including Rox Shox Lyric, Fox X Kashima, Reverb etc. The thing is the frame is a bit big and and I would like to keep all my parts and swap the frame.

Is it possible to find another frame that all my current parts could fit, including my 216x64 mm rear shock? Does the new frame can have a different rear shock size and still work with my current shock?

Thank you very much in advance!

It will probably be easiest to sell your frame with the shock and to buy a frame with a shock, so I wouldn’t stress keeping the same shock. It is possible to find a frame with all of the same parts, but you’ll probably need to look for a frame from the same era so that you can keep your front derailleur, 142x12 rear wheel and 100x15 front wheel. Other things like headset and bottom bracket might be harder to match, but also just wouldn’t be that big of an expense to get new ones instead of keep the old.

Why do you want to keep all of your parts instead of buying a new complete bike?

Because the frame geometry is not that modern so it drops the price of the bike a lot. The components on the other hand are so good and I got them for a very good deal as I said earlier.

Considering my current budget I think it will be easier for me to find a good used frame rather than try to sell my bike for a deal that could not ever get me a bike with these type of components.

PS: I do not have to worry about my front derailleur as it came with a 1x11 Sram NX groupset
