I have a YT tues that currently sits at a 63.5 degree head angle, i've been told I should go to 62.5 degrees by a couple people!
What would be the benefits and negatives?
how would it feel differently?
also I mainly ride natural DH and bike park! also some racing when I can afford it.

It puts the front wheel further in front of your center of gravity, increases your wheelbase, and changes the load between your fork stanchions and bushings.

On steep trails, it provides added stability and makes it easier to keep from going OTB - it can also help smooth out big hits as your front wheel will be ever so slightly closer to the angle of obstacle impact.

On flatter trails, it will make your front wheel more difficult to get your weight over - understeer. It also might introduce more feedback to your hands over chatter and flat landings, and will require more effort to change directions.

Chances are, you would also need to buy a new headset, which is always a pain to install - and the added parts of an adjustable headset provide more interfaces that could start to creak.

Unless you live somewhere super steep, it seems like it would be easier to drop your stanchions in your crown and possibly add PSI / Heavier spring to your fork - and do the opposite on the rear. Ultimately, your dynamic ride height is what matters - and you can probably get 90% of the way there by just adjusting your suspension.

If your still interested in this contact the guys @ Works Components in England they’ve been a great resource for me. They have anglesets from 1.0-2.0 and reach adjust sets also.

thanks for the reply guys! I guess my other question would be what do most people run and is 63.5 good for all around DH?

Stop trip’n on the numbers go out and ride your bike then ask if something doesn’t feel quite right chasing numbers is gonna make you crazy. Play with your set-up that you are currently using like sliding your forks up or down in the clamps will have noticeable effect on your bikes handling. Measure the stanchion tube height make sure there both the same.
