Hey guys, I'm kinda new to MTB and I got my first mountain bike last week. So I was just wondering
what are some of the things that a bike computer will be able to tell you. I was also wondering if it's
worth getting one.

thank you in advance

I tried one once but quickly ditched it. They'll mostly tell you how fast you're going, but that doesn't do much good when you end up crashing into a tree because you were looking at the computer instead of the trail.

Yep. If you're on an iPhone, check out the Strava app. I use that to log my rides, both in mileage and graphically.

Strava is good, so is Map My Ride.

The computers typically tell you speed, RPMs, mileage traveled, and some have heart rate monitors built in. Go wireless if you can afford it.
