It's 7:09 P.M. Oct 4th, I'm clean out of the shower and still high on traction. I just got back from a friends house where we have three mini DH tracks and frankly, it was almost hard to ride. It was the exact opposite of trying to get used to the soft pumace of Mammoth or North Star. I'm used to starting my turns a foot early in anticipation of a slide into the berms which will hopefully catch me. So today it took me till the third run to not start my turns early and ride up and over the insides of turns. Anyone else?

Yeahhhhh buddy! I'm grateful that the rainy season has finally started again. Good traction down south, too, but far from hero dirt.

I was in that boat when we had that first rain a couple weeks ago. After the summer being dry and dusty, I was caught off guard by the surprisingly Spring-like tacky dirt we had. And then it rained again and it was all rowdy. Not really muddy yet, but chunky and you can get away with shit. It's like a party at the end of the night; you either get caught up in how messy everything is, or you let loose and get dirty all over the place!

Where did it go? It's now the middle of January and I'm back to sliding into berms. There's important trail building to do and all we have is dust. Bring it!
