downtube shifter

im riding a new slopestyle bike and i really wanna ride the downtube shifter like brandon and cam ride on their bike. Problem is i dont have water bottle mounts which im sure is what they usually mount it too and im wondering what your ideas are.

You can also go the route of a hose clamp. What frame and shifter are you using? The ones on Cam and Brandon's bikes were specifically designed into the frame itself and a special mount was made for their shifters. They are using Shimano or Sram road index shifters depending upon their sponsor.


Jack Fogel has his set up with the hose clamp style.

Thanks for the info Nick. I've been contemplating doing the down-tube shifter idea. But haven't decided on what way to go.

I used to run one bolted through my seat clamp behind the seat.
