PumpRack presentation Pumptrack Buchs
The "PumpRack" is invented.
What's the best way to get to the pump track? Of course, with the bike in the fresh air.
Everyone knows it, gear ratio and geometry of a pumptrack bike are not ideal to overcome longer distances. Hansueli Spitznagel met with Stefan Lorenz in his frame building workshop with the idea for the "PumpRack" to bring it to life.
A stainless steel Tubus Cosmo serves as the base. With stainless steel tubes we made the adjustments. The tubes were mitered and joined by brazing with silver solder and flux.
As a towing vehicle serves an Orbea Kemen SUV 10, with the Shimano EP 8 it goes effortlessly even up the hill and lets the whole vehicle accelerate faster. An e-bike brings a little more weight with it, which has a positive effect on the driving characteristics and gives a little more smoothness.
On the pump track I ride an air pressure of 4 bar, which makes the tire jump like a basketball. For transport on the "PumpRack" I reduce the air pressure so the bike stays nice on the ground.
