THE CAVE

In this off-season period, thanks to the helpfulness and courtesy of all the staff of the Società Alpina delle Giulie, we had the fantastic opportunity to make a sort of time travel and a descent towards the center of the earth, descending for the first time absolutely with mountain bikes, the 500 steps of the Grotta Gigante, which from the surface lead to the bottom of the largest underground cavity in the world. The Grotta Gigante which is located about 10 km from Trieste is characterized by an exclusive environment of rare beauty, among millenary stalagmites and stalactites which form an immense cavity 100 meters deep, 170 meters long and 76 meters wide which can contain the entire St. Peter's basilica. Thanks to this video we wanted to share this exceptional experience with everyone.
