I got a phonecall from Gusts on a late Saturday asking me to film them (Māris Orniņš, Gusts Ošmucnieks and Raivis Jansons) jumping a river gap that they have been planning to jump it since the gap was scouted out 3 year ago.
We meet next day at 8am Riga where we made our 60km long trip on Liepajas highway to the gap. By my suprise the gap looke far more further and harded to jump in reallife when in video footage, but it didnt effect the riders choise wheter to jump it or not. So we beggan working on gap. After ~2h the job was done, and the only thing that was left, was to conquer the gap.
This video will show, that not always things happen as planned. Unfortunately none of riders came out unhurt. Gusts has now a cracked elbow and a cold, Maris came out only with some minor bruses but Raivis took the the hardest impact, his back was hurting back, so he was taken back to Rīga to a hospital, and just today we heard that he has broken a back gristle in half and chips, doctor said that his back will need 2 operations done and a long recovery time. Get well Raivi!
Filmed on a Canon 60d using canon 50mm f1.8 || and Tamron 17-50mm vc, Velbon Dv-6000 tripod and now indisystem slidermini @ custom 1m length. Filmed and edited by Renārs Vilnis.
